You are not going to get more hours. Nobody is offering you that and you’d stop reading if they did.

This is about what the hours you do get are worth.

One scoop, in a small glass, after the last one goes down. That’s the whole thing.

The dose, on the front of the tub

250 mg.

Elemental magnesium. You can check it in three seconds.

The loudest complaint in this category is underdosing, and it comes with arithmetic attached. So we printed ours on the front and matched the trial exactly.

One ingredient. No blend. No “proprietary.”

Format

Everything else built for tired dads is a capsule stack.

There’s a reason for that, and one of them admits it in their own FAQ. A real magnesium dose is nearly three grams of material. It doesn’t fit in a capsule. So they leave it out and tell you to buy one separately.

This is that one.

It’s a scoop in a glass, and it lives on the counter where you’ll see it.

Tired is a sleep problem. Burnout is a recovery problem. You’ve been treating the wrong one.

Tired is what happens after a bad night. You fix it by sleeping.

This isn’t that, and you know it isn’t, because you’ve had the odd good night and woken up feeling exactly the same.

Here’s the part nobody says out loud. Work ends. School run ends. Bath, story, bed, that ends too. And then there’s an hour on the couch that isn’t rest, because you’re listening. Then bed. Then you’re up again.

There is no point in your day where you are off duty.

Recovery doesn’t happen because you stopped. It happens because your body was allowed to stand down. Six years of never quite standing down is not tiredness. It’s a recovery debt, and no amount of sleeping in on a Saturday clears it.

“Tired needs sleep. Weary needs rest. Burnout needs healing.”

“That’s just being a dad.”

You’ve been told this by other dads, by every forum reply, by your own head at 2am.

“I don’t think you can avoid burnout as a parent. It’s just how it goes once you have kids.”

“Keep in mind this is all temporary.” Said by men whose kids are ten.

“Just catch up on sleep! Please tell me how, sensei.”

It isn’t the tiredness that’s stopping you. It’s the belief that the tiredness is the deal you signed.

It isn’t the deal. It’s just the first thing anyone thought to say to you.

This isn’t for everyone.

This isn’t a testosterone product. We’re not going to tell you your levels crashed. For most men with kids they haven’t, and the ones selling you that story are selling you a blood test you don’t need.

It’s not a pre-workout and it’s not an energy powder.

It’s not a personality. No hat, no club, no “dad bod” jokes. You’re not a punchline and we’re not going to write you as one.

And if you’re waking up gasping, or your partner says you stop breathing at night, please don’t buy this. Go get a sleep study. That’s a different problem and it has a real fix.

What is in it

Magnesium bisglycinate. 250 mg elemental magnesium per scoop.

That’s it. That’s the panel.

Bisglycinate is magnesium bonded to glycine. It’s the form used in the trial, and the bond means each scoop also delivers roughly 1,500 mg of glycine. Not as an added extra, but as part of the molecule.

Not oxide. Oxide is the cheap one, it’s the one in the six dollar tub off the drugstore shelf, and most of it goes straight through you.

What’s not in it: no proprietary blend, no stevia, no artificial colors, no filler ingredients at doses too small to do anything.

The trial

155 adults with self reported poor sleep, randomised, university funded. 250 mg elemental magnesium as bisglycinate. The same form and the same dose that’s in this tub.

Sleep quality score improved by 3.9 points against 2.3 in the placebo group. The difference between the groups reached statistical significance.

The authors’ own words: “most improvements occurring within the first 14 days and sustained thereafter.”

The rule we hold ourselves to

Nothing goes on this page that the trial didn’t measure. It measured sleep quality, and sleep quality moved. So that’s what we talk about, and it’s the only thing we talk about.

One ingredient. One dose. One claim. You can check all three in about a minute.

What to expect

Nights 1 to 3Probably nothing. We’d rather tell you now than have you think it’s broken.
Week 2This is where the trial saw most of its change. It’s also the week most men quit. Don’t.
Month 1Not more hours. Better ones.
Month 3The honest check in. Are your evenings any different?

The guarantee

90 nights.

Two weeks isn’t a fair test of this, so we’re not going to give you a two week guarantee and call it generous.

Three months. If nothing’s changed by then, send us one line and we’ll refund it. No form, no return, no phone call. Keep the tub.

Questions

Why powder and not capsules?
Because 250 mg of elemental magnesium is about 2,000 mg of material. That’s three capsules of just this, before whatever else you’re taking. One scoop is easier and it’s honest about the size of the dose.
When do I take it?
After the last one’s gone down. That’s the point of it. It’s the marker for the end of the day, not a pill you swallow on the way past.
Will it knock me out?
No. It isn’t a sedative and it doesn’t contain one. If you need to get up in the night you’ll get up in the night. That hasn’t changed and we can’t change it.
What am I actually going to notice?
Your nights landing better. That’s what this is for and it’s the whole of what it’s for. You’ve been trying to fix the days by chasing more sleep you can’t get. This works on the recovery side instead, which is the part nobody’s been selling you.
I’ve tried magnesium before and it did nothing.
Check what form and what dose. Most cheap tubs are oxide, which is poorly absorbed, and most capsules are 50 to 100 mg elemental. The trial used 250 mg as bisglycinate. That’s what’s in here, and it’s on the front.
Does it taste bad?
Magnesium is alkaline, and alkaline is what your tongue reads as bitter. Ours is pH corrected and lightly sweetened with monk fruit. Not sweet, just not bitter. No stevia.
Can I take it with my other supplements?
Generally yes, and it replaces nothing. If you’re on prescription medication, particularly blood pressure medication, antibiotics, or anything for your thyroid, magnesium can affect absorption of some of them. Check with your doctor.
Do I have to be a dad?
No. It’s built around what broken nights and long days do to recovery, and that isn’t exclusive to fathers. Not for children, and not during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
